SWEET HARMONY October 13, 2025 Ian Dale creates richly detailed digital paintings that live somewhere between animation and realism. His characters are powered by his creativity and imagination. Born into a multiracial family, he tends to gravitate towards diverse and multicultural characters. Ian works to bring a global perspective and tell the stories of those who may be less visible in our world. In this third book of the series, All We Need Is a Little Practice is a heartwarming tale that celebrates family and the special bond between grandparent and grandchild. Reading this, one can learn that sharing our passions across generations can create the sweetest harmony of all.   NEED FOR SPEED October 6, 2025 David Moore thrives on a need for speed. He loves drawing and painting airplanes from any era. He takes great pride in representing military aircraft and personnel with precision and greatness. David’s work is greatly influenced by the retro poster illustration style of the 1930’s and 40’s. One can also find modern influences as well, which makes his work so stimulating and unique. An anchoring phenomenon, or anchor, is either a fascinating natural phenomenon or a meaningful design problem that students must investigate, They are things, events, processes and students work to explain them. Click here and see what other magnificent work she has been doing.  3x3 MERIT AWARD WINNER PIERRE DROAL September 1, 2025 Pierre Droal has won a #MeritAward in the 3x3, the Magazine of Contemporary Illustration! His work will be featured in Issue No. 22 of 3x3. The honored piece comes from “The Wolf’s Eyelashes”, a beautifully illustrated children’s book written by Chantal Nguyen and published by #Cipango. ALL THINGS BEAUTY July 14, 2025 Looking at the portraits painted so beautifully by Esther Cuesta de la Mata, one will find that her work is all done by hand. She composes watercolors, colored pencils, india inks, graphite, coffee, and even tattoo inks to reach the vibrant colors in each piece. The article, written by Connie Snyder Mick, talks to how our shared ‘brokenness’ binds us in the fight against poverty, injustice and incredulous despair. June 9, 2025 In the few years since its publication, STEM learning picture book Pebbles and the Biggest Number has won over 20 awards and has delivered stellar sales for its INDIE publisher. May 26, 2025 Written anonymously by a service member during a brief layover deployment, this book is a heartfelt attempt to help his children, as well as those of all service members and first responders, to understand the reasons for their parent’s absence. I’ll Love you Near, I’ll Love you Far is a book that seeks to reassure young readers that a parent’s love remains constant no matter the distance, time, or space that separates them. Illustrated by Keith Hobgood and designed by Out Of Our Minds Studios, this work honors all of our heroes.  SHOULD EVERYBODY SAY WHAT THEY LIKE? May 19, 2025 Illustrator Luella Jane Wright worked closely with the BBC UK to create illustrations for the narrated series (by Sir Stephen Fry!), Fantastic Philosophy. It’s a wonderful educational exploration about a community of animals living in a fictional savannah, trying to navigate the tricky philosophical things that come up in life!
