In Spring of last year, author, grandmother, quilter and avid letter writer, Liz Tewksbary contacted Kim Soderberg to talk about illustrating some of the many letters she has written to her granddaughter so that they can stay close while under quarantine. Almost a year to the day later, 4 books are completed and the 5th one is on the drawing-board. Proceeds from the sales of books have led to several thousands of dollars in donations to Camp Sunshine, Cradles to Crayons, Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress, Champs Café, and Friends of the Bolton Seniors (FOBS). It’s always nice to find the light.

lllustrator Brian Call was asked to create a courtroom artist style portrait of Dr. Carl Wigren. Wigren is an alumnus of the University of Washington, where he studied to become a forensic pathologist. The story is one of misfortune and great interest. A baby died, presenting with multiple broken bones, and the grieving parents were the likely perps. After an autopsy, Wigren discovered that the child had died of a rare brittle bone disease called osteogenesis imperfecta. Illustrator Mark Collins recently participated in a large group show at the Delaware Contemporary Museum. The event, called FUN-A-DAY, had over 200 artists creating a small piece of art, no larger than 5x7 inches, for each day of March. Mark chose the theme of an anti-war tribute to the heroes that make up our US Veterans. Each of the 31 illustrations portrayed a soldier in varying activity, emotion and climate.
